This document provides end-to-end step-by-step guidance for deploying, activating, and onboarding both USB Disk Security (Standard Edition) and PrivateDLP (Pro Edition) Windows endpoint clients. It covers installation package acquisition, local client setup, web admin console registration, free trial activation, and license binding workflows, supporting both individual trial users and enterprise bulk deployment scenarios. The two products share an identical client UI and unified activation mechanism, with differences limited to package distribution channels and post-activation functional permissions. This guide is intended for enterprise IT administrators, security operations teams, and individual evaluators deploying the software on Windows endpoints.
1. Overview
USB Disk Security (Standard) and PrivateDLP (Pro) are Windows-native endpoint data loss prevention solutions built on a client-server (C/S) architecture. Both products use the same local client interface; functional differences are enabled automatically after license activation or trial onboarding.
All policy configuration and monitoring are managed via a centralized web console. Endpoint clients must be bound to your organization’s admin console to enable remote management.
2. Pre-Installation Prerequisites
Operating System: Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 11, or Windows Server 2016 and above
Permissions: Local administrator privileges on the target endpoint device
Network: Stable internet access for package download, activation, and console synchronization
Admin Account: A Google account for web console registration and license management
3. Step 1: Obtain the Installation Package
3.1 USB Disk Security (Standard Edition)
Individual/small-scale use: Download the EXE installer directly from the official product website. No pre-application is required.
Enterprise bulk deployment: Submit an official request to the sales team to obtain the MSI installation package for centralized domain deployment.
3.2 PrivateDLP (Pro Edition)
Visit the official product page at https://privatedlp.com/products/usb-disk-security-pro
Submit a trial request via the page.
Upon approval, you will receive both EXE and MSI installation package options for download.
4. Step 2: Install the Endpoint Client
The installation workflow is identical for both USB Disk Security and PrivateDLP.
4.1 EXE Installation (For Individual / Small-Scale Deployment)
Locate the installer file on the target Windows device.
Double-click the installer to launch the setup wizard.
Follow the on-screen prompts, click Next through each step, and complete the installation with default configurations.
Launch the client software after installation finishes.
4.2 MSI Package Deployment (For Enterprise Bulk Provisioning)
The MSI package is designed for enterprise-wide rollout via domain controllers, endpoint management tools, or scripted deployment.
For licensed enterprise customers, the MSI package is pre-integrated with organization authorization. After deployment and network connection, endpoints will automatically bind to your enterprise admin console with no manual activation required.
5. Step 3: Register and Log In to the Web Management Console
You must complete web console registration before activating or binding your endpoint clients.
Access the console login page at https://privatedlp.com/dashboard/login
Click the Sign in with Google option.
If you are already signed in to your Google account in the current browser, you will be automatically registered and logged in to the admin console in one step.
After login, you can access the policy configuration dashboard, endpoint management, and audit analytics features.
6. Step 4: Activate License / Start Trial & Bind to Console
6.1 Automatic Activation (Enterprise MSI Deployment)
For enterprise customers with pre-authorized MSI packages, no manual operation is required. Once the installed client connects to the internet, it will automatically bind to your organization’s admin console and activate the corresponding license. You can view and manage the endpoint directly in the web console.
6.2 Manual Activation / Trial (EXE Installation)
For trial users and customers who purchased individual licenses via EXE installer, complete binding manually in the client interface. The main interface is identical for both product editions:
On the software main dashboard, locate and click the License tile (marked with a key icon in the bottom-right of the Data Protection section).
A license configuration pop-up window will appear.
6.2.1 Start 15-Day Free Trial
Enter the Google email address you used to register and log in to the web admin console.
Click the Start Trial button.
The client will activate a 15-day full-feature trial and automatically bind to your admin console.
Note: The trial version unlocks all features of the corresponding product edition, with no functional limitations compared to the fully licensed version.
6.2.2 Activate Purchased License
Enter the Google email address associated with your admin console account.
Enter your issued license code in the License Code field.
Click the Activate button.
The client will verify your license online, activate the full version, and bind the endpoint to your enterprise admin console.
7. Post-Activation Verification
After successful activation or trial onboarding:
Refresh the web management console.
Navigate to the endpoint management page to confirm the target device appears in your device list.
You can now configure USB control, network policies, and AI audit rules centrally and deploy them to the bound endpoint.
8. Common Troubleshooting
Activation failure: Confirm the entered email matches the Google account used to log in to the web console, and verify the endpoint has stable internet access.
Device not showing in console: Restart the client software, or re-enter the license email to re-initiate the binding process.
MSI deployment issues: Confirm the target device is connected to the corporate network and can reach the PrivateDLP server for authorization synchronization.
