Windows Client System Requirements & Compatibility

Supported Platforms & Integrations

This document defines the official system requirements, supported Windows versions, and security software compatibility specifications for USB Disk Security (Standard) and PrivateDLP (Pro Edition). Different from traditional kernel-based endpoint security and DLP solutions, our software runs entirely in user mode without installing any system drivers, enabling full compatibility with all modern Windows desktop and server operating systems, as well as all third-party antivirus and endpoint security software.

1. Supported Operating Systems

The client software supports all mainstream Windows operating systems from Windows 7 to the latest Windows 11, covering legacy enterprise terminals and modern working environments. Both EXE and MSI installation packages are fully compatible with the following OS versions:

  • Windows 7 (32-bit / 64-bit)

  • Windows 8 / Windows 8.1

  • Windows 10 (All builds, 32-bit / 64-bit)

  • Windows 11 (All official releases)

  • Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022

The client maintains consistent functions, stability, and policy enforcement capabilities across all supported Windows versions, ensuring unified deployment experience for mixed-version enterprise fleets.

2. Minimum System Hardware Requirements

The software adopts a lightweight user-mode architecture with extremely low resource consumption, requiring no high-spec hardware configuration:

  • Processor: 1 GHz or faster dual-core processor

  • RAM: Minimum 2 GB memory

  • Storage: 100 MB free local disk space

  • Network: Stable internet connection for policy synchronization, license activation, and cloud server communication

3. Software Compatibility (Security Software Coexistence)

One of the core technical advantages of USB Disk Security and PrivateDLP is full compatibility with all antivirus and endpoint security software.

Traditional DLP and endpoint monitoring tools install kernel-mode drivers, which frequently conflict with antivirus, EDR, firewall, and host protection software, resulting in system blue screens, service crashes, false interception, and policy failure. In contrast, our solution runs completely in Windows user mode with zero driver installation. It does not hook kernel functions, does not occupy system filter stacks, and does not perform low-level system modifications.

Therefore, the client can work stably alongside any existing security software installed on the endpoint, including but not limited to:

  • Windows Defender

  • Third-party enterprise antivirus software

  • EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) solutions

  • Host firewalls and system encryption tools

  • Terminal management and auditing software

No manual whitelisting, driver exception configuration, or security policy adjustment is required. The software can be directly deployed on terminals with existing security stacks without compatibility risks.

4. Permission & Environment Requirements

  • Installation Permission: Local administrator privileges are required for initial client installation and policy registration.

  • Runtime Permission: The client runs automatically in the background with standard system permission, no user operation required.

  • Network Environment: Supports corporate local area network, external network, and remote office network environments.

5. Deployment Compatibility Notes

  • Supports both EXE individual installation and MSI enterprise silent / AD domain batch deployment.

  • No system reboot is mandatory during or after installation in most scenarios.

  • Will not conflict with existing business software, office tools, or enterprise system environments.

6. Summary

USB Disk Security and PrivateDLP feature ultra-wide Windows system compatibility and industry-leading security software coexistence capability. The driverless user-mode architecture ensures stable operation on all Windows versions from Windows 7 to Windows 11, and allows seamless deployment on enterprise terminals running any type of antivirus or endpoint protection program, eliminating traditional DLP compatibility pain points and lowering enterprise deployment barriers.
